1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Votional ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Votional is a web application that helps users take sermon notes, study Scripture, and engage with devotional content. The Service includes free and paid subscription tiers.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement. You must sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under it.

You retain ownership of all notes, reflections, and content you create. We do not claim rights to your content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content back to you through the Service, and to send portions of it to the third-party AI processors disclosed in our Privacy Policy for the sole purpose of generating the features you have requested.

6. AI Features and Theological Disclaimer

The Service uses third-party AI APIs (currently Google Gemini and Deepgram) to generate Deep Dive analysis, devotional content, Scripture Bites, and live transcription. AI-generated content is provided for personal reflection and study only. It is not a substitute for pastoral counsel, theological authority, or formal religious instruction, and we make no representation as to its theological accuracy. Always weigh AI-generated commentary against scripture, your faith tradition, and qualified spiritual guidance.

You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Preferences page or the public Delete Account page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that AI-generated content will be error-free, theologically accurate, or appropriate for your particular faith tradition.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Votional and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, with the seat of arbitration in Salt Lake County, Utah. You waive any right to participate in a class action. Either party may bring small-claims actions in their local jurisdiction.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email or in-app notice and update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
